Digested 2, Flinch and Changing Ways 1 have just been announced retrospective Gold Ledger Award recipients at tonight’s awards night in Melbourne.
The Ledger Awards, established to acknowledge and promote excellence in comic arts and publishing in Australia, were re-launched with tonight’s ceremony in Melbourne. Inaugurated in 2005, and return after a five-year hiatus with a new structure and a new major sponsor: Supanova Pop Culture Expo. The awards are named after the pioneering Australian cartoonist Peter Ledger (1945 – 1994).
Digested #02 further unfolds the ‘Oxygen’ storyline along with more of Bobby.N’s ”shorts’.
Flinch is a collection of engaging stories by established and emerging creators, all playing on their interpretation of the term ‘flinch’. From facing the ‘other’ within ourselves to a handful of stories exploring traditional (and non-traditional) hauntings alike.
Changing Ways 1, by Justin Randall, is a dark and intriguing tale – the first of three books that begin when unusual lesions begin appearing on livestock and stories of strange side effects start spreading in the community of Grey Oaks… and things just get stranger from there.
Digested 2, Flinch and Changing Ways 1 join VOWELS in receiving Gold Ledger Awards for 2008-2012.
